Hello there!

Alright, let’s get boogie down to business because ain’t no one got time to waste on getting rid of acne! Today I’ll be sharing with you the products that I use in my morning skincare routine that have helped me clear my acne, promote better skin texture, fade my acne scars, give me glowing and flawless skin. I’ll also be sharing with you the effective acne/pimple spot treatments I have been using to spot treat my big cystic acne and also the smaller zits. I can say I finally found my holy grail for treating my martians (aka pimples) LOL!!!

1. CLEANSER

Morning facial cleansing is an absolute must and crucial step in your every day skincare routine! Think about it… when you’re sleeping you sweat, you skin produces oil and there is lots of dust in the air and all that sits on your face for 5-8hours while you are sleeping ! YUCK!

The cleanser I have been using the Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Oil Reducing Cleanser. I really like this cleansers for my oily combination skin because it cleanses very well but doesnot over dry my skin. It has ingredients in it that helps with enlarged pores and balancing the oil production in you skin.

2. EXFOLIATING

Exfoliating is another crucial step in a skincare regime to help get that flawless skin you want!

Twice a week I like to exfoliate my skin to help regenerate the cells and to fade my acne scars. I’ve really been seeing results with my DIY scrub below:

DIY At Home Scrub To Get Rid of Acne & Acne Scars

But for those of you who might not be into DIY here are some amazing face scrubs I have used that exfoliate my skin and do not irritate my skin.  Click here MY FAVORITES SCRUBS FOR OILY / COMBO ACNE PRONE SKIN !

3. TONING

Now, let’s talk a little about toning… I used to think this step was stupid and waste of my time, but I was totally wrong! With the right toner, this step actually helps your skin a ton!

A toner helps to balance your skin and restore your skin moisture, PH balance and get rid of any harsh chemicals that might have been left behind from your face wash.

If you have combination oily skin like me , it is best to add a good toner to your routine.

The toner i have been using is the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting BHA liquid Exfoliant, i just soak a cotton pad with the product and swipe it all over my face.

Hands down one of the best toners i have used because it has salicylic acid in it which is one of the best acne fighting ingredients. This toner help gently exfoliate the surface of your skin, which in turn then helps the texture of your skin, fade acne scars and unclog you pores. I specially like this toner because it leaves my skin feeling moisturized and balanced after I use it.

4. EYE CREAM

It’s always good to use an eye cream versus just putting on whatever moisturizer you use on your eyes. Because our eye area is the most sensitive skin we have, we need products that are gentle to the skin and specially formulated for the eye area.

The day time eye cream i have been using is the Fresh Lotus Eye Gel, this eye cream gas cucumber in it so it helps reduce puffiness in my under eyes in the morning and it’ also has lotus flower extract which has amazing antioxidants to prevent wrinkles, because I am not about that prune life

5. SERUMS

Now this is the step that probably make the most difference in my routine. Basically a serum just gives your skin a super concentrate dose of goodness to keep it simple.

So there’s 2 serums I have been using, the first one is the Paulas Choice Resist 10% Niacinamide booster it’s a liquid serum so you can mix it with a moisturizer but I like to put 3 drops on my face and then gently massage it into my face.

This serum helps with enlarged pores and even skin tone and texture, I honestly I have noticed the most difference in my skin tone and the texture, I feel like my face is smoother and the a lot of the discoloration has been fading and my skin feels brighter and smoother.

The second serum i have been using is the Paula's Choice Resist Ultra Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate serum this serum main concentration is antioxidants to help regenerate the skin and also helps with enlarged pores and skin texture, but it also helps with anti aging. Honestly you don’t need to use 2 serums, one good one is plenty as long as its the one that addresses you skin concerns.

6. FACE MOISTURIZER and SPF

Never ever skip moisturizing you face! Regardless if you are oily or not, moisturizing is important to keep you skin hydrated (which is the key to avoid aging even faster)

The face cream I have been using is the Paula's Choice Resist Anti Aging Skin hydrator

I like this face cream because it’s a gel and a cream at the same time and a little bit goes a long way. I only need one pump and it moisturizes my whole face this face cream has vitamin C and niacinamide which helps brighten your skin and improve the texture.

This cream is meant for night time use , but i like to use it during the day as well and just top if off with sunscreen to protect my face.

Now of course always wear an SPF if you are going out even if you’re only exposed to the sun a few minutes, the sun is one of the biggest environment factors you actually can control so yeah.

My favorite SPFs for my oily combination skin :

Paula's Choice Calm SPF 30 Moisturizer I really love this sunscreen, its light in texture and it does not smell like sunscreen. It's a mineral based SPF that helps calm and soothe the skin, if you have redness it was help with it.

Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid-Lotion Sunblock this is one of the best drugstore sunscreen, it has a light texture and it does not leave my skin feeling greasy and no white over cast.

And yes, my morning skin care consist of mainly the Paulas Choice products, because I have notice my skin get’s the best result when I use products from one brand instead of mixing a whole bunch.

7. ACNE SPOT TREATMENTS

There are a few that I use depending on how bad my martians (aka pimples) are, I mostly get a few big cystic acne so I use spot treatments.

The first one is the Mario Bedescu Buffering Lotion, now i shared this with you guys on snapchat already, so for those of you who are not following … ahem go follow me ;)

This is a spot treatment I like to use on my large pimples, the way you use it is basically shake the bottle until the sediment at the bottom is mixed and then put a few drops on your finger and dab it when you feel like you’re getting a pimple. You can leave this on overnight or if you’re going to be home just pop it on in the morning and go about your day, I don’t recommend putting make up over this because it does leave a slight white mark after it dries. and not kidding you this stuff is amazing. One night I had one of those huge pimple that hurt, yeah you know those and I put this on over night and when I woke up the pimple pain was gone and after a few days it was gone.

The second spot treatment I use is the M-61 Powerspot Blemish Lotion, this I use sometimes as well on those big painful pimples , but it works best to dry up zits, or the smaller pimples. I mainly use this one after I pop a pimple, so there is like a powder at the bottom of the bottle You do not shake it, you just dip a q tip to the bottom of the bottle grabbing the powder and then I pop it on the pimple I just popped.

This product has salicylic acid and tea tree which helps dry up what’s left of the pimple, kills the bacteria and it has licorice root which helps in fading any after marks that might be left behind. I’ll warn you it burns, but OH it burns so good!

And that my friends wraps up my skincare for my acne. I hope you enjoyed this post, leave me a comment and let me know what your fave skincare is for acne!
